Paris-La Défense, September 7, 2026 – Safic-Alcan, a leading global specialty chemicals distributor, and Oterra, one of the largest global providers of naturally sourced colors, announce a distribution partnership for Oterra’s natural color range in the French nutraceuticals market, effective July 1, 2026.
Under the agreement, Safic-Alcan becomes the distributor of Oterra’s naturally sourced colors and product technologies — including the CapColors®, ColorFruit® and I-Colors® ranges — to nutraceutical manufacturers across France. The partnership gives French formulators local access to a natural color portfolio built specifically for supplement formats: compressed tablets, functional gummies, capsules and instant powder drinks.
Supplement brands face rising consumer demand for natural and clean-label formulations, alongside a parallel push to convert away from synthetic colorants — including the synthetic lakes long used in tablets and coatings. Oterra’s naturally sourced colors, derived mainly from fruits, vegetables and edible plants, answer both pressures. The I-Colors® range is engineered as a direct alternative to synthetic lakes, delivering even, spotless colorization in powder-based products with no dephasing or specking; CapColors® encapsulation adds resistance to light, heat and oxidation for vibrant, stable shades at lower dosage.
