Safic‑Alcan Expands Partnership with Applechem in Italy to Distribute Its Personal Care Portfolio
Paris, April 1st, 2025 – Safic-Alcan, a leading global distributor of specialty chemicals, is pleased to announce the expansion of its partnership with Solabia Group through the Applechem range in Italy. This agreement strengthens Safic-Alcan’s portfolio of high-performance, naturally derived ingredients for skin care, hair care, and color cosmetics applications.
Applechem, acquired by Solabia Group in 2023, was founded in 2003 at the Enterprise Development Center (EDC) of the New Jersey Institute of Technology. The company introduced its first-generation G-Block UV protection range in 2006, which became widely adopted in global sunscreen formulations.
Over the years, Applechem has expanded its portfolio to include the S-Block range for color cosmetics and high-performance pigment dispersants, meeting the needs of formulators worldwide.
This latest agreement further reinforces the successful collaboration between Safic-Alcan and Solabia Group in multiple countries and now through Applechem extends to cosmetic manufacturers in Italy.
With this expansion, Applechem’s solutions will enhance Safic-Alcan Italia’s offering, providing R&D teams with high-quality, naturally derived ingredients and a fresh perspective on traditional formulations.
