Benefits:
- It is a low viscosity tetraethylorthosilicate
- The most common methods for producing silicic acid are hydrolysis and thermal condensation at high temperatures
- The resultant silicic acid can be carefully applied in situ and bonds well to a variety of inorganic substrates
- It is tetrafunctional and forms very stable siloxane bonds
- Provides chemical and thermal stability and mechanical qualities when a very thin layer of silicon dioxide is applied to the surface of glass, metals, pigments, fillers and synthetic fibers
