Published on January 27, 2026

Safic-Alcan’s Executive Committee held its October 2025 meeting in the United Kingdom on October 20–21, bringing together senior leadership for two days of strategic discussions, site visits and key organizational milestones.

The programme combined governance sessions with on-the-ground engagement at the company’s UK operations, reflecting Safic-Alcan’s commitment to proximity, operational excellence and long-term development across its markets.

Strategic Sessions and Site Visits

During the visit, Executive Committee members toured Safic-Alcan’s Haydock production facility and Life Science Application Laboratory, highlighting the company’s technical expertise, quality standards and innovation capabilities.

The agenda also included strategic working sessions with commercial and finance leadership teams at the Warrington office. These discussions focused on performance, priorities and alignment across business units, reinforcing collaboration between global and local teams.

Leadership Transition in the UK

The Executive Committee meeting marked an important leadership transition within Safic-Alcan’s UK operations. Barry McDonnell will retire at the end of the year after a long and distinguished career with the company, during which he played a key role in the development and stability of the UK business.

Dawn Goff will assume leadership responsibilities in January 2026, bringing extensive industry experience to support the continued growth and strategic direction of the UK operations.

Recognising Experience and Talent Development

The visit was also an opportunity to recognise long-standing commitment and internal career progression within the UK teams. Three employees—Derek Hardman, Mark Quinn and Craig Morris—celebrated 30 years of service, reflecting the depth of expertise and continuity that underpin Safic-Alcan’s operations.

In parallel, recent internal promotions further illustrate the company’s focus on talent development. Nicole Greaves was appointed Rubber Sales Manager, and Kate Davies was promoted to Operations and Logistics Manager, reinforcing leadership capabilities across key functions.

A Foundation for Sustainable Growth

These milestones, together with continued investment in state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure, highlight Safic-Alcan’s focus on technical excellence, people development and organizational continuity.

By combining strategic governance with operational engagement, the Executive Committee meeting reaffirmed the company’s long-term vision and its commitment to building a resilient, forward-looking organisation.
