Butcher’s Broom Extract is used to treat complaints from chronic venous insufficiency, the heaviness of legs, haemorrhoids, leg cramps, swelling of the legs, the sensation of pain, itching, and burning.
The characteristic constituents of butcher’s broom extract are steroidal saponins based upon ruscogenin and neoruscogenin, such as ruscin and ruscoside.
By complying with the monograph of the European Pharmacopoeia and being supplied with a GMP certificate and Active Substance Master File, this extract can be used as a pharmaceutical ingredient.
