Warehouse Manager – Safic-Alcan Spain (Barcelona)

Montserrat Marigó Garriga has been part of Safic-Alcan since 1986, making her one of the Group’s most experienced and longstanding team members.

She currently serves as Warehouse Manager in Barcelona, overseeing logistics operations and distribution across Spain.

She joined the company at a time when it was still operating under the name Isisa, starting her career as an administrative assistant when the first warehouse operations were established in the Barcelona area. Over the years, as the company expanded and its logistics needs evolved, Montserrat grew alongside the organisation, progressively taking on greater responsibility.

Growing with the company

Throughout her career, Montserrat has worked across three different warehouse sites, adapting to increasing volumes, new regulatory requirements and a growing diversity of products and business lines. Today, she leads a team of eight people, managing daily warehouse operations, coordinating shipments across the Iberian Peninsula and working closely with external storage partners when needed.

Her role sits at the heart of Safic-Alcan’s operational reliability, requiring precision, organisation and constant coordination with administrative teams, managers and directors.

Montserrat describes her work as fundamentally service-oriented. Although warehouse operations often function behind the scenes, she sees her role as fully integrated into the company’s overall performance.

Her professional relationships — with colleagues, transport partners, service providers and internal teams — are built on trust, respect and collaboration. Over nearly four decades, she has witnessed the evolution of Safic-Alcan, welcoming new colleagues, supporting change and ensuring continuity during periods of transformation.

Beyond operations: energy and curiosity

Outside of work, Montserrat is a creative and energetic person. She enjoys patchwork and crafts, reading, music, yoga and travelling. Curious by nature, she values learning and staying active — qualities that also shape her professional approach.
