At FIP 2026 in Lyon, taking place from June 2 to 5, 2026 at Lyon Eurexpo, Safic-Alcan is reinforcing its commitment to more sustainable plastics solutions by partnering with three new strategic suppliers: Bariq, Da Fon, and Elastever. Specialists in responsible and innovative materials, they will be showcased on our stand (B60–C57) to illustrate a shared vision: accelerating the transition toward a circular plastics economy.
We sat down with their representatives to discuss their approach to recyclability, current market challenges, and the value of partnering with Safic-Alcan.
Da Fon is represented by Theodoros Mavros, Business Development Manager. Elastever is represented by Nicolas Forien, Business Development Manager. Bariq is represented by Ahmed Abdel Fattah, Chief Commercial Officer.
Bariq — rPET Ahmed Abdel Fattah, Chief Commercial Officer
"Bariq is a fully integrated rPET producer, covering the entire value chain - from post-consumer bottle collection and sorting through to pellet production. Our core offering is food-contact grade rPET pellets, designed for demanding packaging applications including bottles, trays, and films. As PPWR imposes increasing recycled content thresholds, our production model is built to deliver consistent, high-quality rPET at scale."
Da Fon — rPP / rHDPE Theodoros Mavros, Business Development Manager
"Da Fon produces high-quality recycled rPP and rHDPE grades for packaging and technical applications. Through AI-assisted sorting, advanced automation, and strict quality control, we provide consistent and traceable PCR materials that help converters and brands meet increasing recycled-content requirements under PPWR."
Elastever — Recycled Elastomers / TPE Nicolas Forien, Business Development Manager
“Our solutions enable the incorporation of more than 70% recycled content into TPEs, particularly from end-of-life tires and other industrial waste streams. This is fully aligned with the European approach to reducing virgin material use and increasing recycled content.
Our materials remain thermoplastic: they can be processed on standard equipment and are recyclable at end of life, unlike many vulcanized rubbers. This directly addresses the challenge of circularity - not just recycling waste, but designing materials that can be reused within an industrial loop.
We therefore provide a concrete response to European challenges related to circularity, reduction of virgin materials, and recycled content incorporation, with a solution that is both industrially scalable and economically competitive in a highly volatile environment."
Safic-Alcan Van Linh Dang, Business Director France Performance Products
"Bariq, Da Fon, and Elastever each bring a clearly defined material expertise to the table. From food-grade rPET pellets to recycled polyolefin compounds and rubber-based materials, their portfolios directly respond to the recycled content mandates introduced by the PPWR and to the growing demand from European converters for drop-in sustainable alternatives."
Bariq: "The quality and availability of post-consumer PET bottles is our primary input variable. We have invested in NIR sorting lines and multi-stage decontamination systems to ensure food-contact compliance batch after batch. Achieving consistent colour from mixed bottle streams requires very precise process control - and that is precisely what builds customer confidence."
Da Fon: "The main challenge in recycled polyolefins is maintaining stable quality despite variability in post-consumer waste streams. At Da Fon, we address this through rigorous feedstock selection, AI-driven sorting, advanced automation, and tailored blending protocols, allowing us to improve consistency, reduce odour, and remain cost-competitive versus virgin resin."
Elastever: "The main technical challenge lies in ensuring consistent mechanical performance - particularly compression resistance and aging behavior - from inherently heterogeneous feedstock such as end-of-life tires. From an economic standpoint, a recycled material cannot be defined solely by its sustainability credentials: it must also be available, cost-competitive, and easy for manufacturers to integrate.
We address these challenges through a highly pragmatic approach: qualification of feedstock streams, tailored formulation, material testing, validation on standard processing equipment, and close collaboration with customers to find the right balance between performance, recycled content, cost, and industrial feasibility."
Safic-Alcan: "Our partners said it all. Developing sustainable solutions comes with significant challenges. Consistency, performance, and competitiveness are the conditions for broader adoption of these materials."
Bariq: "France is a strategic priority for us. French brands and converters are under real pressure to source traceable, compliant rPET. Safic-Alcan gives us direct access to these customers, with a team that understands the french regulatory landscape - from PPWR to the national REP framework - and can translate our value proposition into concrete supply solutions."
Da Fon: "France is a strategic market for Da Fon as demand for high-quality PCR materials continues to grow. We were looking for a strong technical and commercial partner with deep market knowledge and established industry connections. Safic-Alcan allows us to better support French converters and OEMs throughout the qualification and adoption process for recycled materials."
Elastever: "Entering technically demanding sectors in France requires both credibility and a strong local network. Safic-Alcan brings both - with recognised expertise in elastomers and a commercial presence across the entire French territory, providing the ideal platform to position our recycled TPE compounds with the right contacts."
Safic-Alcan: "Those partnerships are built on key strengths: multi-material technical expertise, nationwide commercial presence, and the ability to support complex qualification projects from initial trials through to series supply.
A single, trusted point of contact for French converters and OEMs - for sourcing, technical support, and regulatory guidance."
