Polyethylene glycol-based solvent for industrial applications. It is used in a wide variety of chemical reactions.
Benefits:
- Acts as an endcap and hydrophilic component with isocyanates and polyesters
- When combined with unsaturated monomers like acrylic or methacrylic acid, it forms esters which can be copolymerized to improve hydrophilicity and dispersing properties of polymers in water
- Due to the low concentration of diols, there is almost no formation of di-esters during the reaction with unsaturated organic acids
