Quatreflora™ is a proprietary, patented probiotic yeast strain used in nutraceutical applications, developed by Lesaffre for women’s intimate and vaginal health support through an oral, gut-to-vagina mode of action.

Backed by 2 clinical studies and 3 preclinical (in vivo) studies, it is positioned within the women’s intimate health segment of the nutraceutical market, supporting vaginal microbiota balance through an oral route of administration.
As a yeast-based probiotic, Quatreflora™ differs structurally from bacterial probiotics: its eukaryotic cell wall confers natural resistance to gastric acid and bile salts, allowing it to reach the intestine without protective encapsulation, and leaves it unaffected by concurrent antibiotic therapy. Following oral intake, the strain has been shown to migrate from the intestine to the vaginal environment, enabling a dual mode of action, an early antipathogenic effect in the gut alongside local support at the vaginal site, from a single convenient format.
Quatreflora™ is manufactured to consistent quality standards, holds EU QPS status, is Non-GMO, gluten-free, lactose-free, and suitable for Kosher, Halal, vegetarian and vegan formulations, with a shelf life of 18 to 24 months depending on grade, stored under vacuum in a cool, dry place. Available in SPI (vermicelli) and PW (powder) grades, it integrates readily into capsules and sachets.
