Paris-La Defense, November 3, 2026 – Safic-Alcan is pleased to announce a new distribution agreement with COIM for the Hydrolar® range of waterborne polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) for coatings applications. The agreement is effective immediately.

Effective immediately, the agreement involves five subsidiaries of the Safic-Alcan Group and covers a broad geographical area, including the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal), the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and the entire Nordic-Baltic region (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania).

Hydrolar® is a key expression of COIM’s commitment to high-performance water-based technologies. The range was designed for the growing demand for high-performance, environmentally responsible coatings. Hydrolar® PUDs offer an excellent balance of mechanical properties, chemical resistance and formulation flexibility, as a sustainable alternative to solvent-based systems.

The range is particularly suited to:

  • Wood coatings
  • Industrial finishes
  • Protective coatings
  • Specialty applications requiring advanced film performance

Through our local presence and technical expertise, customers in these countries will benefit from more direct access to Hydrolar® solutions, local technical and application support, and greater supply chain efficiency. The partnership strengthens our position as a key partner in waterborne technologies.

This agreement represents a strategic step in strengthening COIM’s presence in Europe. We share with Safic-Alcan the same focus on quality, innovation and customer proximity. Combining the technology of our Hydrolar® dispersions with the in-depth knowledge of local markets of such a qualified partner will enable us to offer customers in 13 countries increasingly high-performing and sustainable water-based solutions, backed by excellent technical and commercial service.
