We are committed to creating long-term value by driving positive change across the industries we serve.  This means rethinking the way we operate, innovate, and collaborate with people and the planet in mind.

Driving responsible growth together

At  Safic-Alcan, we are dedicated to being a leading partner in the specialty chemicals industry, providing innovative solutions. Committed to excellence, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, we serve as the durable link between all stakeholders.

Beyond distribution: A shared commitment to sustainability

Sustainability has become an essential pillar of our business. It reflects our culture of continuous improvement, our drive for innovation, and our sense of responsibility towards people and the environment.

We position ourselves as more than a distributor by acting as the Durable Link, working together with our customers, principals, and other partners to deliver innovative and responsible solutions. Through this collaboration, we strengthen resilient supply chains, support the improvement of sustainability practices, and work together toward a better future for all.

"We are well positioned to be the long-lasting link that brings both Principals and Customers together to understand what consumers need and how we, together, can implement sustainable innovation in the marketplace."

Embedding ESG in everything we do

At Safic-Alcan, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), and Sustainability reflect our long-term commitment to responsible business practices. ESG provides a structured framework for integrating sustainability into our decision-making processes, measuring impact, and driving continuous improvement.

We embed the ESG principles into every aspect of our operations, from sourcing and supply chain management to product development and stakeholder engagement. By aligning our business goals with ESG priorities, we aim to reduce negative impacts, amplify positive contributions, and help shape a more sustainable and resilient future.

Our ESG approach

is built on three principles:

Environmental stewardship

Minimizing our environmental footprint and promoting sustainable innovation.

Social responsibility

Supporting people, and inclusive growth across our value chain.

Robust governance

Upholding transparency, ethics, and accountability in everything we do.

Our ESG Commitment

Committed to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and Responsible Care Initiative over the past several years, Safic-Alcan contributes to global sustainable development goals by aligning our Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, objectives, and actions accordingly.

UNGC

It was very natural for us to commit to the 10 principles of the UNGC initiative in January 2018. As a signatory, Safic-Alcan joins the world’s largest voluntary corporate citizenship and sustainability initiative and has been committed to its ten principles in the areas of human and labour rights, the environment, and anti-corruption.

Responsible Care

It is a global initiative that promotes safe, ethical, and sustainable practices in the chemical industry. At Safic-Alcan, we embed its principles into our ESG governance by fostering leadership for safe chemical management, protecting people and the environment, strengthening risk-based chemical systems, collaborating with partners, engaging openly with stakeholders, and driving sustainability through innovative solutions.

Plant protein isn’t about protein anymore

Ten years ago, plant protein was a protein conversation. A brand team would brief a product by grams per serving, PDCAAS or DIAAS score, and cost. Pea vs soy vs rice. That was the vocabulary. That was the pitch to the consumer: as much protein as dairy, without the dairy. That brief is dead. Plant … Continued

Beyond CFU counts: the 2026 microbiota stack

Every consumer knows about the gut microbiome now. Brand teams should treat that as bad news. When a category concept is universally understood, it stops being a differentiator. “Probiotics” printed on a pack used to signal innovation. In 2026 it signals baseline — the equivalent of a shampoo bottle saying “contains water.” The CFU count … Continued

Morosil® and the GLP-1 era: why body composition is the new weight management brief

GLP-1 agonists did something no supplement brand planned for: they made weight management a medical conversation, not a lifestyle one. Ozempic and its cousins didn’t just change the patient journey. They changed the consumer brief. Weight management brands are now working in two parallel markets: consumers on a GLP-1 who need complementary support, and consumers … Continued
